Caroline Charlotte Jackson

Caroline Charlotte Avery was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, June 18, 1868, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Avery and passed away January 30, 1949, at the Fern Swanson Nursing Home in Clay Center, Nebraska, reaching the age of 80 years, seven months and 11 days.

Many of her childhood days were spent on a New Orleans plantation with her grandparents. She came with her parents to Edgar from Beatrice where she lived the remaining years of her life. She attended the Baptist Church in her youth.

Her marriage to Henry Jackson occurred in 1901, who preceded her in death.

Those left to mourn her passing are one brother, Willard S. Avery of Edgar; three nephews and six nieces. Her parents and three brothers passed on before her.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, 1949, at 2:30 p.m., at the McGhie Funeral Home, with John W. Howard in charge.

J. M. McGhie and Mr. Howard sang "In the Garden" and Mr. Howard sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd" as a solo. Mrs. C. B. Smith Jr. was at the piano.

Pallbearers were E. F. Hart, C. G. Cottle, Charles Cook, Edgar Organ, C. H. Merrill and A. A. Recht.

Interment was in the Edgar Cemetery.
