Sad news was given out here Saturday afternoon of the death of Robert Avery a brother of Willis Avery, which occurred at Denton, Nebr., while there on business matters. He was in his usual health in the morning and death overtook him suddenly. He,
with his family, resided in Lincoln, and was a man well and favorably known here, having been born and raised in this vicinity. The remains were brought here Monday for burial in the family lot. He has a host of friends who extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

Robert L. Avery was born at Edgar on November 17, 1874 and passed this life at Denton, Nebr., on Friday, June 4, 1920.

As a youngster he grew to man hood here attending the Edgar schools and was also a graduate of the Edgar High School. At an early age he united with the Presbyterian Church and was a faithful member up to the time of his death.

On December 6th, 1899 he was united in marriage to Miss Ora G. Woolsey of Superior and to this union one son, Doyt was born.

Until about three years ago he was a resident of Edgar and had many life long friends who extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved wife, son, mother, brothers and sister.

He leaves to mourn him, his wife, Ora G., and son Doyt, his mother, Mrs. R. A. Avery, one sister, Mrs. Carrie Jackson, and two brothers, George H. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Willard of Edgar.

Funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian Church Tuesday, June 8, at two-thirty P.M. by Rev. Thomkins of Lincoln, and the Masonic body of this city held their last rites at the cemetery.

Robert L. Avery was a man among men, honest and upright, and will be greatly missed here, by relatives and friends.
