Ex-Service Man Is Laid To Rest
Enterted into rest last Friday, March 23rd, George W. Roddy, of Lake, Louisiana. The funeral services were hald at Mt. Zion Baptist church of Galvez, Louisiana, where Mr. Roddy was reared. He was 40 years old. A veteran of the Worlds war. Services were conducted by Rev. J.F. Arceneaux of Deham Srpings, assisted bt the Rev. Steve Carpenter and the Leon Gautreau Post No. 81, of the American Legion of Gonzales.
Mr. Roddy spent 13 months in the services over sea. During the World's war, went over the top 11 times, was wounded and gassed. Deceased leaves his wife, formally Miss Aglie Mayers, of Lake and five children: Elaine, Lillie Mae, George Jr., Morris Glenn and Bonnie.
