RODDY, JR. GEORGE "HARDHEAD"
A retired electrician and a resident of Gonzales, he died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Baton Rouge. He was 75 and a native of Lake. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday. Religious services at St. Mark Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Herculon DeMaria. Interment in Mount Zion Cemetery, Galvez. Survived by wife, Ruby Lee B. Roddy, Gonzales; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Wilson Fontenot, Gonzales; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ted and Bridget Roddy and Glynn and Angela Roddy, all of Gonzales; two sisters, Elaine Melancon of Gramercy, and Bonnie Way of Port Vincent; a brother, Morris Glynn Roddy, Baton Rouge; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, George W. and Aggie Mayers Roddy; a daughter, Linda Mary Roddy; a sister, Lillie Mae Noto; and a grandson, Conley Joseph Roddy. Pallbearers will be Brett Sanchez, Todd Saucier, Dirk Fairchild, Brandon Babin, Tyson Roddy, Tyke Fontenot, Bart Savoy and Biff Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers are Austin and Jory Roddy. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Usher's Society and bingo committee.
