MADISON – Paul Conway Case, 85, formerly of Sunset Avenue, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Golden Living, Greensboro. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Nelson and Reverend Stuart Noell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery with military rites by Rockingham County Honor Guard. Born on January 22, 1927, in Rockingham County, Paul was a World War II, U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a retiree from Madison Police Department where he served as detective and police chief. Paul also worked for the Mayodan and Stoneville Police Departments. He attended Lakeview Baptist Church. Paul was a dedicated father to his disabled daughter, Linda. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hall Case; son, Larry Wayne Case; daughter, Linda Ann Case; parents, Fletcher and Dottie Leake Case; brother, Clayton Case, and sisters, Doris C. Justice, Estelle C. Manuel, Gladys C. Coble, Hilda C. Sapp, Wavie C. Lemons and Geraldine C. Calhoun. Survivors include his sisters, Elsie C. Mabe, of Greensboro, Marjorie C. Black, of Browns Summit, Edith C. Neese, of Jamestown and Josephine C. Smith (Thomas), of Madison; special sister-in-law, Annie Goad and special great niece, Sherry Leonard; grandson, Kenneth Case and great granddaughter, Kari Case; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the home of Josephine C. Smith, 213 Phenis Trail, Madison, NC.
