Maud Williams was born on April 15, 1887 in Keya Paha County, Nebraska to Andrew and Elizabeth Calhoun Carr. She was one of six girls and seven boys. She was preceded in death by her parents, all her brothers and sisters, her husband and a son, Clair Williams.

She was married to Gilbert Williams on August 2, 1904 at the home place in Keya Paha County, and they had four children, Velva, Merl, Carmen, and Clair.

Maud was a loving mother and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Her friends and family would say Maud was a great entertainer and loved to have company. She always made you feel welcome in her home.

In later years her hobby was crocheting, and she made many afghans.

She was one of the first members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Springview, joining in 1947.

She left to mourn her passing her son Merl Williams of Chadron, Nebraska; daughters Carmen Davis of Springview, Nebraska and Velva Mikkelson of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many great great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.
