E. Florence Ehrhart, 76, of Shrewsbury, formerly of New Freedom, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Shrewsbury. She was the wife of William J. Ehrhart, to whom she was married for 59 years.

The service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom. Burial will be in Bethlehem Steltz Cemetery, Glen Rock. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Mrs. Ehrhart was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Codorus Township. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elsie (Spidel) Bankert.

She worked in several area sewing factories in southern York County; she also worked at the former Hungerford Wire Cloth and the former Hungerford Packing Co., both in Hungerford. She was a member of Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church in Glen Rock, where she was a member of the United Church Women.

Mrs. Ehrhart also is survived by two sons, Henry W. Ehrhart and Clarence S. Ehrhart, both of Glen Rock; two daughters, Catharine M. Joines of Felton and Margaret L. Joines of York; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandsons; three brothers, Charles Bankert of Glen Rock and George Bankert and Dale Bankert, both of New Freedom; and four sisters, Goldie Renoll of Jefferson and Anna Mae Bankert, Barbara Almoney and Mary Ehrhart, all of Glen Rock.

Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Daniel M. Krodel. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, RD 3 Box 219, Glen Rock 17327.
