MRS. A. W. BARRETT FUNERAL TUESDAY

Funeral service, with Rev. A. W. Gugin in charge, were held at the Methodist Church at 3: 30 Tuesday, for Mrs. A. W. Barrett, who died at St. Mary's Hospital, Pierre, Thursday forenoon, the 1st. Interment was made in Gettysburg Cemetery.

Andrea P. Peterson was born in Denmark August 8, 1871 to Lars P. and Mattie Peterson. She came to America with her parents when she was one year of age. The family had lived in Chicago some twelve years and in Indiana for a few years before moving to Potter County in about 1884.

Her father farmed in Potter county a number of years, the home being located some three miles east of Gettysburg. There her parents died in 1892.

Andrea Peterson and A. W. Barrett were married at Hudson, Wisc. Eight children, four boys and four girls, were born to this marriage. One son Percy A., passed away on October 20, 1935. Two daughters, Mattie, McCamley and Nellie F. Barrett are also deceased. Two daughters, Ethel Brokaw and Alpha Brokaw, reside in California. One son, Clarence A. Barrett, also resides in California. Two sons Edwin L. and Robert F. reside in Gettysburg. Her husband, A. W. Barrett also resides here.

Mrs. Barrett's sister, Mrs. Mary Wager, resides in Gettysburg, and her brother, J. C. Peterson, formerly of Gettysburg, now resides in Oregon.
