MATTIE MELISSA MCCAMLY
Mattie Melissa McCamly, wife of Francis Pierre McCamly, died at the hospital at Pierre Monday of this week. Her body was brought to Gettysburg Tuesday. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o' clock at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Loomis, and the body was laid to rest in the Gettysburg cemetery.
Mrs. McCamly was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Barrett. She was born in Potter county twenty-three years ago, and has always lived in this vicinity. Six years ago she married to Francis Pierre McCamly. They have been living on the farm southeast of Gettysburg across the Sully county line.
Mrs. McCamly was very sick last winter and it was thought she would not recover. However she improved and was able to be up again. She may have overtaxed her strength, at any rate she was taken sick again a short time ago, and went to Pierre, hoping that an operation might be beneficial.
She leaves three children, the oldest only about five years old, who will feel most keenly the loss of a mother's care and love.
[Added on Dec. 5, 1986 by Betty Larrington from information from Eldora Tobin.
The children were Eldora 5, Olive 4, and David 3.
Her brothers Percy, Edwin, Robert and Clarence and Sisters Ethel, Alpha and Nellie.
