Mr. Thill was a devout member of the Catholic church at Remsen and was prominent in the social and religious life of the community, where he was held in the highest regard by all who knew him. He took much interest in the development of the moral, social and educational condition of the communtiy and was a most hospitable person. He devoted his life to family and friends, and his home was a very pleasant one, often the scene of happy gatherings. His constant aim in life was to give his children many of the advantages that were denied him. Mr. Thill is identified with the Democratic party and has always taken an active interest in the affairs of the township. While he did not aspire to office, has had been active in the general affairs of the community and was often consulted on matters relating to civic affairs.
Peter Thill was born to Joannes (John) and Catherine (Kate) Werner Thill and married Katherine Weiler on October 25, 1897 in Remson, Plymouth Co. Iowa. To this union were nine children.
