MRS. KATHERINE THILL DIES THANKSGIVING DAY, SERVICES IN REMSEN
Mrs. Katherine Thill, 72, of Remsen, suffered a heart attack and died Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, in Akron while attending the funeral for Mrs. Blum who had died a few days earlier.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 26, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church, Remsen. The Fisch funeral home had charge of arrangements and interment was in the church cemetery. Rev. George J. Theobald officiated.
Mrs. Thill was born in Remsen Oct. 20, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Weiler. She married Peter Thill in Remsen, Oct. 25, 1898, and the couple farmed near Remsen until four years ago when they retired and moved to town. She was a member of the Christian's Mothers Society.
Survivors include her husband, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary three years ago, five sons and four daughters: John T. of Le Mars; Dominic, Al, Mrs. Felix (Mary) Kunkel, Josie, Mrs. Gilbert (Katherine) Blum, Eddie and Vernon all of Remsen; and Mrs. Norbert (Eva) Budden of Granville.
Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters; Nick, Jack and Dominick Weiler and Mrs. William Miller all of Remsen; Susie Weiler, Mrs. John Wiland and Mrs. Nick Nilles all of Dell Rapids, S.D.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Mrs. John Miller of Sioux Falls, S.D.
