Earl Fletcher, 81, Route 1, Plover, town of Buena Vista, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Michael's Hospital, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Boston Funeral Home, where friends may call now. His grandson, Howard Christensen of Osseo, will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Corners Cemetery in the spring.

Mr. Fletcher was born Aug. 23, 1897, in the town of Buena Vista, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Fletcher. He grew up there and attended local schools. As a young man he worked on the family farm, which he later took over and farmed actively through last fall. He married Lillian Berry on July 20, 1929, in the town of Buena Vista.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Arvilla) Christensen, Suring, and Mrs. Kenneth (Jeanette) Gross, Plover; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Gilman, Iola; and five grandchildren.

Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
