Winneconne, Wis. -- (Special) -- Mrs. Oura Benedict, died at her home at Butte des Morts Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. She had been an invalid for seven years.
Mrs. Benedict was born at Canistoda, NY, April 19, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Johnston. She had lived at Butte des Morts for 40 years.
She was married to Mr. Benedict, June 20, 1895, at Winneconne. Twelve children were born, two of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are Mrs. Norman Perry, George Benedict, and Mrs. Margaret Sweeney, Butte des Morts; Mrs. Earl Andrews, Mountain, Wis.; Cyrus Benedict, Butte des Morts; Mrs. Louis Nitzke, Iron Mountain, Mich.; Mrs. Albert Schneider, Oshkosh; and Raymond, Lillian, and Warren Benedict, Butte des Morts.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Nora Johnson, Toledo, O., and Mrs. Mary Kimball, New York; and two brothers, George and Wallace Johnston, New York.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church at Winneconne. The Rev. O.P. Lovik will officiate. Burial will be at the Bell cemetery.
