WILLIAM STEPHEN CLEARY IS SUMMONED AT THE AGE OF 63

Wm. Cleary, 63, a resident of the Paxton community since 1894, passed away on Saturday evening at 7 o'clock at the home of his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Graham and family, east of Ludlow. Mr. Cleary had been alling for some little time from diabetes and complications. For several days previous to his passing, his condition was very serious and the members of his family were constantly at his bed side.

Mr. Cleary was born August 27, 1871, near Gridley, Il a son of Michael and Sarah Murphy Cleary. In October 14, 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Griffin, of Paxton, who preceded him in death on August 28, 1921.

To this union four sons and one daughter were born and all survive him. They are Ray, of Loda; Francis, of Lockport, IL; and Garnet and Donald, at home, and Mrs. Edward Graham, of the Ludlow community. He is also mourned by six sisters and three brothers, who are, namely, Mrs. (Nellie) J E Alexander, of Neff City, KS; Mrs. (Kate) Martin Stack, of El Paso, IL; Mrs. (Molly) R. C. Corbett; Mrs. (Sally) Paul Huguet and Mrs. (Bess) Edward Head of Ludlow, IL; Miss Lucy Cleary, of Peoria; Mr. John T. Cleary, of El Paso, IL; Mr. Patrick Cleary, of Gridley, IL and Edward Cleary , of Ludlow, IL. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren.

In the death of Mr. Cleary, the Paxton community has lost an honored and highly esteemed citizen, and one who will be greatly missed. His fellow townsmen, recognizing his honesty and uprighteness of character, have always had the utmost regard for him, and his personal traits of character endeared him to all who know him, for he was a kindly man of high and honorable purposes.

Funeral services for Mr. Cleary were conducted Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock by Rev. Fr. Kluck, Rev. Fr. Eugene McLain, of Loda, and Rev Fr. Thomas Cleary.

The pallbearers were Messrs. John Ryan, Matt Kennedy, Hugh Graham, Edw. Quinlan, Edw. Connelly, Ben Imming, John Graham, and Mike Quinlan.
