HARVEY HOMER BOWEN
---Harvey H. Bowen, son of Charles and Jenny Bowen, was born in Knox County, Missouri on April 10, 1884, died on December 30, 1946 at the Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri at the age of fifty-two years, eight months and twenty days.
---On October 31, 1910 he was married to Miss Lorene Johnson. To this union were born six children, namely, a son, Mangus Bowen of Denver Colorado, Louise Bowen of Chetupa, Kansas, Mrs. Richard Young of Everton, Arkansas, Mrs. Dewey Anderson also of Everton, Arkansas, Joyce at home and a daughter, Marjorie, who died in 1923. There are four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. O.P. Perry of Novelty and Mrs. L.M. Crawford of La Plata who survives and an aunt, Mrs. Henry Smith of Kirksville.
---With the exception of about twenty-five years Mr. Bowen lived in Macon and Knox Counties. In 1910 Mr. Bowen gave his heart to Christ and united with the Hazel Dell Church. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
---A sister, Mrs. Charles Salyer, preceded him in death on November 9, 1945.
---Funeral services were held in the La Plata Christian Church on January 2, 1947. Rev. Carl Huff officiating.
