Maud (Bowen) Crawford was a third cousin to this writers' husband, Donald Ervin Ellis. Maud's mother Jennie (Herington) Bowen was a sister to Donald's great grandmother Eleanor (Herington) Gentry.

Maud was the daughter of Charles William Bowen, Jr. (1853-1920) and Jennifer Jane "Jennie" (Herington) Bowen (1864-1955), both natives of Knox County, Missouri.

Maud had the following known siblings. She could have had other siblings, but this writer does not know the names of any others:

On September 6, 1906, in Macon County, Missouri, Maud married Lunsford M. "Lunnie" Crawford from Atlanta, Missouri. They had the following known children:

Murl H. Crawford 1915 –
Donal M. Crawford 1917 – 1990

The Crawfords were farmers in Salt River Township of Knox County, Missouri. Lunnie died in 1963 and Maud in 1966. Both are buried at La Plata Cemetery, as well as the children Zelma and Donal. (Note: This son's name is not misspelled - this is the way it is on his tomstone - DONAL)
