JOHN RICHARD BATESON, lived 1/4 mile west of Six Points, Ohio for 70 years. Widow of Nora Bateson, a farmer. Died in Portage twp. on Aug. 6, 1943 at 7:30 pm from general paralysis due to hypertroply of prostate and uremia at age 77y, 9m, 25d. Interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Aug. 9th.
Informant was daughter Nellie Chambers of RR #1, Wayne, O. She stated that John was born in Goshen, IN on Oct. 12, 1865. His parents were Richard Bateson, born in Richland, OH and Sarah Kiger, born in Ohio.
Side note, all Wood county census, 1900 thru 1940 show John being born in Ohio and he was in the 1880 Portage, O. census with parents & siblings.
