He was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Tremonton, Utah, a son of Clifford and Nadine Allen Vance.
He married Ione Davis on Jan. 21, 1934, in the Salt Lake Temple.
She preceded him in death.
He married Beth Allen on Jan. 19, 1988, in Elko, Nev.
He was the owner/operator of the Petersen and Vance Trucking Co. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Beth A. Vance, Logan; two sons and three daughters, Allan L. and Diane Vance, Logan; Leland and Nancy Vance, Murray, Utah; Joan and Arden Draney, Providence, Utah; Linda Blaser, Chandler, Ariz.; Susan and Doug Wilson, serving a mission in Russia; one brother and three sisters, Lowell and Ada Jean Vance, Tremonton, Utah; Irma Bourne, Fielding, Utah; Lois Pugmire, Montpelier, Utah; Wilma and Merle Andersen, California; 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Judd Vance.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, in the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., with Bishop Mark Porter conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Hospice of Cache Valley, 550 E. 1400 North, Logan, UT 84341.
