Mr. Riggleman retired after 40 years of service as a mechanic with Carlisle Tire & Rubber Co., and where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Charles enjoyed mechanical work and fixed and sold cars and lawn mowers for many years at his home. He also enjoyed camping.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Fern E. (Clepper) Riggleman; a son, Glenn E. Riggleman of Carlisle; three daughters, Barbara A. Riggleman of Carlisle, Sharon L. (and her husband, Bradley) Vaughn of Carlisle and Beverly A. (and her husband, Michael) Conrad of Enola; two brothers, Clinton Riggleman of Columbia and Curtis Riggleman of Newville; two sisters, Anna Mae Wolfe of Carlisle and Tilly Holloway of Shermans Dale; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Edward Riggleman; four brothers, Bill, Lee, Dale and Bob; and one sister, Marie.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 24, 2010, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Lewis Splain officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
