He died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
Born June 11, 1924, in Mt. Rock, he was a son of the late Harry Spidle and Laura B. (Raudabaugh) Riggleman.
He was an employee of Carlisle Tire and Rubber Co. for 14 years, until his retirement in 1984. He had also worked for six years with the Pennsylvania Railroad.
He was a member of the Greenspring First Church of God in Newville, a member of the White Circle Club and the Moose Lodge, both in Carlisle, and a former member of Eagles 1299.
Mr. Spidle is survived by his longtime companion, Connie Wimer; four brothers, Robert G. Zimmerman of Newville, Charles J. Riggleman of Carlisle, Curtis J. Riggleman of Newville and Clinton E. Riggleman of Columbia; two sisters, Anna M. Wolf of Carlisle and Ella M. Holloway of Shermans Dale; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Riggleman and Leroy Gutshall; and a sister, Marie Smith.
The Rev. Hugh L. Foshee will officiate at services. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens in Carlisle.
Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
