Couple celebrate 40th
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Riggleman, Jr., 86 Fairview St., Carlisle, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
They were honored by Beverly and Glenn Riggleman, Sharon Morton, Brad Vaughn and Sue Sheaffer.
The couple have six children, Edward, Gary, Glenn, Barbara and Beverly Riggleman, and Sharon Morton, all of Carlisle; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Riggleman is the former Fern Clepper. Her husband is a retired employee of Carlisle Tire and Rubber Co., Carlisle.
They were married by the Rev. Jerry Plummer in Hagerstown, Md., on April 19, 1947.

Fern E. Riggleman, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Carlisle. She was born on August 6, 1931 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Zimmerman) Clepper and the widow of Charles J. Riggleman who died June 20, 2010.
Fern was a loving and devoted homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Glenn E. Riggleman of Carlisle, two daughters; Sharon L. (and her husband, Bradley) Vaughn of Carlisle and Beverly A. (and her husband, Michael) Conrad of Enola, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Fern was preceded in death by two sons; Gary and Edward Riggleman, one daughter, Barbara Riggleman and three brothers; Luther, Arthur and Blaine Clepper
A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Randy Zook officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
