Obituary - Chvatal, Anton J.
Funeral services for Anton Chvatal, 94, North Bend, will be 1:30 pm Saturday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Mr. Chvatal died Wednesday at Birchwood Manor Nursing Home in North Bend. He was a retired farmer. He was born May 1, 1893 in Prague. He lived in the Morse Bluff and Prague area before moving to North Bend in 1960.

Mr. Chvatal belonged to Morse Bluff American Legion Post 340 and served in World War I from September 22, 1917 to June 4, 1919 with the U.S. Army in France.

He married Irma Ondracek January 12, 1921 in Lincoln. She died November 13, 1986. Survivors include one son Don of Morse Bluff; one daughter, Maxine Bolte of North Bend; two brothers, Tom of Colon and Joe of Morse Bluff; one sister, Mary Bartosh of Fremont; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. The Rev. Hugh Schwartz will officiate Saturday's service. Visitation is in progress at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted by Morse Bluff American Legion Post No. 340 and North Bend VFW Post 8223. Burial will be in Killian Cemetery west of Morse Bluff. Memorials may be given to the North Bend Rescue Squad
