Charles Chvatal, 99, a retired Morse Bluff farmer, died Saturday evening in Arbor Manor. He was born September 26, 1884, west of Prague. He lived all his life in the Prague and Morse Bluff area.

Mr. Chvatal was a former member of the Dist. 77 school board in Saunders County and also had served on the Morse Bluff Volunteer Fire Department.

He married Mary Odvody on February 1, 1910. She died December 10, 1928. He then married Anna Petrezelka Wirka, who died July 6, 1962.

Survivors include a son, Francis Chvatal of Morse Bluff; daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Mayme) Racek of Morse Bluff; three brothers, Anton "A.J." of North Bend, Joe of Morse Bluff and Tom of Colon; sisters, Mrs. Mary Bartosh of Fremont and Mrs. Antonia Jaros of North Bend; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. The Rev. Gary Main of First United Methodist Church in North Bend will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Killian Cemetery Association. Burial will be in Killian Cemetery west of Morse Bluff.
