Katherine Brill Chilton Times June 21, 1913
On Sunday last Mrs. William Brill died at her home in the town of New Holstein on Sunday, June 15th at the age of 73 years. Katherine George was born near Buffalo, N.Y., July 2, 1840 and resided in that vicinity until 1860 when she was married to Wm. Brill. They remained there until 1861 when they came to Wisconsin and located on a farm in the town of New Holstein two miles south of the village, where they began the work of pioneers, rearing a family and shared their joys and sorrows. Last fall her health began failing but she was able to be up and around. Some seven weeks ago she was stricken with paralysis and since that time she gradually grew weaker until death came.
Mrs. Brill was a woman who was held in high esteem by those who knew her, being an ideal wife and mother. She was a devout member of the Catholic church and attended services regularly when her health permitted. The funeral was held on Wednesday from the St. Anna's church, Rev. Fr. Geo. A. Schemmer officiating.
This is the fourth death in the Brill family in the past six months. Her daughter, Mrs. Jos. Hanert of Chilton, another daughter, Mrs. Chas. Trienen of Remsen, Ia., a grandchild, daughter of Amos Brill of Gevser, Mont., having preceded her to the grave.
She is survived by her husband, six sons, Theo. Of Elkhart Lake, Jos. Of Appleton, Amos of Geyser, Mont., Leopold, Otto and George of New Holstein and three daughters, Mrs. A. G. George of Marcus, Ia., Mrs. Peter Petesch of Geyser, Mont., and Mrs. Nick Rach of St. Anna.
