Son of Nicholas Amos George and Catherine Goffine, and twin of Peter K. George.

Michael L. George, a former resident of Arcade, passed away at the home of Mr. Wm. Simons, Sunday, February 27th at 3am, aged 72 years.
He was born at Sheldon NY, October 12, 1848, and spent his boyhood days in New York State.
In November 1900, he started in business in Arcade in the hotel, then known as the George Hotel, now occupied by H. M. Taber & Son, Inc. hardware store. In 1912 he went to Kansas City, Missouri where he made his home until last August, when he came to visit Mr. Simons.
He is survived by his wife Katherine George, a daughter, Mrs. W. H. Dow of Kansas City, Missouri; two sons, Francis M. and Charles H. of Joplin, Missouri; two sisters and three brothers.
Burial took place at Strykersville, Wednesday, March 2nd.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dow of Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Gertrude Almeter of Hamburg, NY (cut off end old newspaper clipping)
