Windsor Gazette - Tuesday - 7 Jul 1925 - Funeral services for Mrs. Anna [J. W.] Falk, whose death on Wednesday afternoon, Jul. 1, was reported in the last issue of the Gazette, were held at Grace Lutheran church Friday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. G. A. Schimmel. Mrs. Falk had been a faithful member of the church and will be sorely missed. Burial was in the family lot in Grace cemetery. The services were large attended, and there were many floral offerings from sympathizing friends. Mrs. Falk, whose maiden name was Anna Giesler, was born in Elkhart Co., IN, Nov. 16, 1861, a daughter of Adam and Mary Giesler. She came to Shelby county with her parents when she was only 11 years old. On Jan. 14, 1880, she was united in marriage with J. W. Falk and to this union six children were born. One child died in infancy. Those surviving are Mrs. T. A. Weber of Strasburg, Walter Falk of Decatur, Harley and Elmer Falk of Herborn and Miss Eva at home. She also leaves her husband who is seriously ill and a patient in the Mattoon hospital, and two brothers and eight grandchildren. The brothers are John Giesler of Seattle, WA and Adam Giesler of Stewardson. Mr. and Mrs. Falk moved to Strasburg about six years ago from Herborn where they had conducted a store for many years, building a splendid home on North Walnut street. All the children and their families were present at the services, but as previously announced Mr. Falk was unable to be present because of being seriously ill in the hospital at Mattoon. Among those from away present at the services were Louis Reinhart and Mrs. John Rozak of Chicago; Harry Giesler of Champaign; Gussie Scheef and family, Fred Giesler, Mrs. Sherman Carr, and Mrs. William Henderson of Decatur; Henry Scheef and family of Mattoon; and many from Stewardson. - Windsor Gazette - 7 Jul 1925
