Obituary (probably the Daily Register, Gainesville, TX /date unknown) "Bessie E. Tatum" Services for a former longtime Gainesville resident, Mrs. Bessie E. Tatum, 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel. Jay Channell will officiate, followed by burial in Res Haven Memorial Park. Grandsons will server as bearers. Mrs. Tatum died Wednesday morning in a Mesquite hospital. She was born April 18, 1891 in Cooper, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Smith Scott. She was the widow of Henry Tatum, who died in 1978, and was a member of the Church of Christ and the May Star Rebekah Lodge. Survivors are three daughters, Maggie Acker and Betty Johnson of Dallas and Ruth Aldridge of Garland; three sons, Ed Tatum of McKinney, Bob and Jackie Tatum of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Elmer Scott of Donaldsonville, La. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8 o'clock to receive friends.
