Franklin Burton
Robert M. Burton stayed behind in Ripley, Mississippi when the family moved to Arkansas.
During the Civil War, he served in the Confederate Army Mississippi 2nd Infantry, until he contracted measles and died in 1862 at the Richmond Hospital in Virginia.
He had one son, Robert Thomas Burton, whose descendants still live in Mississippi.
