Williams and his wife Mary migrated to Madison County, Alabama where the following five children were raised:

John S. (born 1828)
Sarah Ann (born 1832)
Robert M. (born 1834)
James W. (born 1836)
Miles F. (born 1839)

In 1841 the family migrated to Tippah County, Mississippi where five more children were raised:

William Wesley (born 1842)
Lucy Jane (born 1845)
Allen Franklin (born 1848)
Mary Elizabeth (born 1851)
Minerva S. (born 1853)

On January 26, 1859, Williams and his wife Mary, sold their land in Tippah County and moved the family to a growing settlement in Arkansas, known as Belfast, in what is now Grant County.

Williams died in 1861 and was laid to rest in the Graves-Concord Cemetery, east of Prattsville, Arkansas.
