Cecelia Adamson
Miss Cecelia Adamson, 81, of 45 South Morris Street, Waynesburg, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, December 6, 1976 in Greene County Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past three years.
Miss Adamson was born October 29, 1895, at Claylick, Center Township, a daughter of the late James E. and Elizabeth Nancy Hoge Adamson.
She had attended the Indiana Normal School, receiving her teaching certificate in 1915. She then attended summer sessions at Waynesburg College and graduated from the Washington Business School in 1928.
After having taught in Morgan Township for two years, she became deputy sheriff under her father. She had held several courthouse offices and
had worked especially in the treasury and commissioner's offices. She also woked at the Public Assistance office in Waynesburg and Washington, serving 43 years in public offices.
She was a member of the Willow Grove Church and the Christian Church of Waynesburg. She lived all her life in the Waynesburg area.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. John (Cinderella) Staggers of Dowingtown; a brother, George K. (Nick) Adamson of Lincoln Park, Mich., and 24 nieces and nephews.
Five brothers and two sisters are deceased.
