Born to Thomas Henry Campbell and Anna Lee Thompson Campbell. Jose had one brother, Emery "Em" Campbell. After her father's death, her mother married Thomas Henry Tilson. To this union a half-brother, Charles "Charley" Tilson and Opal Lucille Tilson Livengood (Lucy) were born. Jose married a wonderful and gracious man, Andrew Joseph "Curly" Heckadon in 1917 in Butler (Bates Co.) MO. To this union seven children were born: Wilma Marie; John Henry (Jack); Charles Leslie (Charles); Ernest Joe (Ernie); Juanita June (June); Robert Lee (Bob); and Floyd Wendell (Floyd). Curly worked very hard scooping out coal from the coal mines in Rich Hill, MO, contracting Black Lung Disease that resulted in his death on February 6, 1961. Jose spent some time residing on the west coast in Oregon and also in Kansas city, MO. Jose enjoyed cooking and especially gardening. She had the best strawberry patch in town! Jose was preceded in death by her parents; husband "Curly;" brother "Em"; daughter June; and sons, Ernie and Bob. Jose is missed by numerous grandchildren and other family members. The rest of her children have died since her death: Charles died in 2004; Wilma died in 2006; Jack died in 2007; and Floyd died in 2011.
