Lessard, Fred A. 1874-1948

GARDINER --- Fred A. Lessard, 74, died early Wednesday morning at his home, 64 Townsend Place.

He was born in Lewiston, January 17, 1874, the son of Joseph and Sophia (Gilbert) Lessard.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, No. 4218 and the Catholic Order of Foresters, No. 40 of Skowhegan.

Survivors include his wife, Cora (Turcotte) Lessard; three sons, Alfred W. of Lewiston; Edmond G. of Farmingdale; and Joseph W. of Gardiner; five daughters, Mrs. Claude L. Hutchings, Mrs. P. Henry Gilson, Mrs. Louis Brown and Mrs. Victor Greenleaf, all of Gardiner, and Mrs. George Curtis of Farmingdale; two brothers, Joseph W. of Meredith, N.H., and Walter of Skowhegan; one sister, Mrs. Levi Butler of Pennsylvania; 39 grandchildren, several nieces, cousins and nephews.

Friends may call at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Louis Brown on Spring Street.

A funeral mass will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Gardiner.
