The daughter of John C. Albrecht and Caroline Fidalus Albrecht, Ida M. Albrecht Stauber Haglage was born September 6, 1866 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, one of eight children. A Protestant, she married Christian Stauber, Sr., a Catholic, on January 22, 1884 at the Washington United Church of Christ in the Camp Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, and they had five children: John Christian Stauber, John Stauber, Ida Francesca Stauber, Francis Stauber, and Josephine Stauber Thiemann.

After Christian's death, Ida married Fred Haglage, Sr. on August 12, 1891, and they had five children: Fred Haglage, Jr., Marie Haglage, Caroline Haglage, Bertha Haglage, and Mary Haglage. She died of nephritis the day before her 51st birthday on September 5, 1917 in Cincinnati. She is buried near her parents' unmarked graves and next to her daughter Josephine Stauber Thiemann at Cincinnati's Vine Street Hill Cemetery (formerly Carthage Road Cemetery started by the German Reform Church in Cincinnati). Her Catholic first husband, Christian Stauber, is buried near his parents at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Cincinnati.

Decades after Ida's death, her grandson Lee Stauber added a marker to her grave. In 2002 and 2003 Ida's great-great-granddaughter Bridgette Donnelly, as a Catholic high school student, did volunteer work with children at Ida's church, Washington United Church of Christ in Camp Washington. Ida's ancestry was German.
