Caroline "Carrie" K. Haglage Schock was born February 28, 1901 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio to Ida M. Albrecht Stauber Haglage and her second husband, Frederick B. Haglage. She had four siblings and five half siblings. On March 3, 1917 Carrie married shoemaker George Schock probably at Washington United Church of Christ in the Camp Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, and they became the parents of Lillian F. Schock Augustine and Ruth Bertha Schock Augustine, who married brothers. When Carrie married, she claimed to be 17 but was probably only barely 16. George was 25. (Her daughter Lillian was born a few weeks before Carrie's marriage when Carrie was just 15 years old.) In 1920 the family lived at 222 Mohawk Avenue in the Mohawk neighborhood of Cincinnati. Carrie's sister Bertha Haglage and half-brother Christian Stauber lived with the Schocks. In 1930 they lived at 438 Bank Street in Camp Washington. Carrie died at age 57 on January 27, 1959 at 4065 Homelawn Avenue in Cincinnati and was survived by her husband. She could be buried in New Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery near her daughter Ruth.
