Miss Omer Timmons married Caswell Beckham on 27 November 1895 in Young County, Texas. He preceded her in death. After her husband's death, Omer returned to Young County. She built a small house on her father's land in the Tonk Valley Community. The insurance settlement from the railroad supported her family. In 1914, her father sold his farm and moved near Elbert. Omer Timmons took her family there as well. In 1915, Omer Timmons went to Galveston to study nursing.

After her husband's death, Mrs. Omer Beckham married Elias Frank Heard in 1924. The couple divorced.

Mrs. Omer Heard married Thomas L Mayes in 1939 and was husband and wife until her death.

Omer Timmons Beckham opened the first hospital in Young County in 1915. The hospital was located on the bottom floor of her husband's family home, Beckham Home on Grove Street, then the hospital was moved to its own building and was renamed Virginia Street Hospital. The hospital continued until the City of Graham built its own hospital on Cherry Street

In 1938, Mrs. Omer Timmons ran for Young County Treasurer. She was using Mrs. Omer Beckham during the election. he was acquainted with the hardships of the development of Young County and the resulting progress made by the people. Omer Beckham was a niece of Young County Judge N.J. Timmons who served Young County for many years as a county judge and held various places of honor and trust. She was a lifelong Democrat. They lived in the Proffitt community for many years.

Survived by her husband; children.
