The Indianapolis News, 14 May 1928, Monday, Pg 21:
"LIVE AND DIE TOGETHER
Brown County Men, Brothers-in-Law, to have Double Funeral
NASHVILLE, Ind., May 14. -- James Kennedy, age eighty, and Jacob Snyder, age eighty, his brother-in-law, are dead at the Kennedy home here. The two men had been playmates and were reared in the same community in Brown county. Some time ago both expressed the desire to spend the rest of their life together and Mr. Snyder was brought from his home near Helmsburg to the Kennedy home here.
Kennedy became ill several days ago and died early Sunday and Snyder died twelve hours later. Kennedy served as sheriff of Brown county for two years. He is survived by three sons and two daughters. Snyder is survived by two sons and two daughters. A double funeral will be held for them Thursday."

Note: Photographer and newspaperman Frank Michael Hohenberger (1876-1963) spent 47 years recording the life, customs and scenes in Brown Co IN. My family is grateful for his pictures of Grandpa Kennedy, his children and their homes.

James is my paternal Gr-Grandfather. So many thanks to Rhonda and Lin for the tombstone pictures.
