Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Cain Burrell, widow of Thomas J. Burrell, were held at 2:30 p.m. August 1 from Harmonia Congregational Methodist Church. Rev. John Ragsdale, Rev. R.C. Gray and Rev. Paul Cain officiated with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Burrell, 77, died Saturday, July 31 at District Two Hospital in Durant. She was a native of Attala County.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Hendry of Rockford, Illinois, Mrs. Beverly Burrell of Goodman and Mrs. Nancy Mabry of Pickens; five sons, Thomas J. Burrell, Jr., John S. Burrell, Eldridge R. Burrell, Don Wayne Burrell and Roger Ken Burrell, all of Sallis; two sisters, Mrs. Dena Gunter of Durant, and Mrs. Nina Jenkins of Sallis; one brother, Jimmie Cain of Durant; eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were David Dewberry, Dwight Roberts, Bobby Burrell, Mike Burrell, Tommy Mabry, and John Mabry.
