Edgar Reynolds is enumerated in the 1880 census living with his brother Joseph H. and family in Harlan, Shelby Co., IA
The 1887 Plat Book of Keokuk Co., IA identifies Edgar Reynolds on the 120 acres of land formerly occupied by his father in Sections 26 and 27 of Lancaster Twp. By the time of the 1895 Plat Book the property was in the name of Conrad Aller.
The 1900 census of Madison Twp., Greenwood Co., KS enumerates E. W. Reynolds [46], farmer with wife Meda [41], Leona [14], Zane L. [11], Elsie [8], Iva [4] and Myrtle [2m]. He had a mortgage on the farm.
They moved to Topeka, KS in 1909 and are enumerated on the 1910 census: Edgar [56], farmer, Meda [50], Zane [21], Elsie [18], Iva [14], Myrtle [10] and Bennie [8]. The farm was mortgaged and had a well-house.
The 1920 census of Shawnee Co., KS enumerates Edgar W. Reynolds [65], with Meda [60], Elise M. [27], Iva [23], Myrtle [19], and Ben V. [17].
Edgar Reynolds was of slender build and had a moustache. He loved to argue religion and politics. His religious preference were of the more radical type. Edgar and Meda lived on the west side of Topeka at 10th and Randolph [2800 W. 10th St,]. Meda was a heavily freckled redhead, tall but average weight.
At the time of Edgar's death his occupation was listed as a retired carpenter. Cause of death was identified as probably cirrhosis of the liver.
At the time of Meda's death her residence is listed with Iva Reynolds, 1229 Garfield, Topeka, KS. Cause of death was identified as arteriosclerotic heart disease. She was survived by one son, 3 daughter, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
