Horton L. "Shom" Rogers, 79, died at his home in the Tonk Valley community. Mr. Rogers was born near Caddo, Texas on the family farm and moved to Young County with his parents in 1881 from near Caddo.
Horton Rogers married Miss Belle Timmons on 23 November 1902 in the Tonk Valley Community. He lived in that community until his death.
Survived by his wife; three daughters - Miss Ada Lee Rogers; Mrs. Mary Stewart, Mrs. Ima Pullis; one son - J.T. Rogers; seven sisters - Mrs. F.B. Lowrey, Mrs. M. R. Brashears, Mrs. Jessie Callahan, Mrs. W.R. McClahan, Mrs. Mary Taylor, Mrs. Jo Clark and Mrs. C.K. Holt; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
