Bishop-- Mrs. Catherine Bishop, widow of the late Samuel Bishop, died at the home of her son, Edward Bishop, in Freeland at 11:45 o'clock Tuesday morning of senility. Catherine Wilson was born in Spaulding Lincolnshire, England, Sept. 3, 1828, where she grew to womanhood. At the age of 21 she came to Michigan. She was united in marriage to Samuel Bishop in the village of Goodrich, Mich., Oct. 9, 1851. They took up their residence in Goodrich, where they resided ten years, when they moved to Tittabawassee and settled on a farm. Later they removed to Freeland where her husband died Dec. 4, 1900. Eleven children were born to the family and six survive. They are: Mrs. Sarah Lewis of Frederick, Mich.; Mrs. Kate Mills of Sanford, Mich.; Charles, William and Edward of Freeland and David Bishop of Hamilton, Mont. Twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral will take place Friday from the home of Edward Bishop at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 from the Methodist Episcopal church Freeland. Rev. Robert J. Trainer will officiate, assisted by Rev. Jacob H. Lewis of Flint, Mich. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery.

Catherine Wilson immigrated to Michigan with her father in 1849. She married Samuel Bishop 9 October 1851 in town of Goodrich, MI and in 1861 removed to Freeland, MI.
