Widow of Frank Mills, passed away Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David W. Thomson, 2317 Benjamin Street, after a long illness. Age 86 years. Katie Bishop was born June 7, 1869 in Freeland, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bishop pioneer residents of Freeland. On June 7, 1893, she was married there to Mr. Mills. He passed away Dec. 30, 1946. The deceased was a member of the Freeland Methodist Church, the Luna Rebekah Lodge of Freeland, the Freeland Women's Club, and a life member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 121 of Midland. Surviving besides her daughter are one son, Perley L. Mills; Coleman, one granddaughter, Mrs. Allan Houghtaling, Reese; also two great grandchildren. Funeral service will take place at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Freeland Methodist Church. Rev. Howard A Slaatte will officiate, with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Freeland. Friends may call at the Taylor Funeral Home, Freeland after 7 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Monday, and from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at the church.
