Edward S. Bishop, 81, died Friday at his home in Freeland. He was born June 14, 1863, in Freeland, where he resided all his life with the exception of a year spent in California, where, on April 21, 1891 he married Miss Gertrude Swarthout. He was a life member of Midland Masonic lodge. He leaves his wife; a foster daughter, Mrs. William Hoewe of Freeland; a foster son, Willloughby Damuth of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home and 2 at Freeland Methodist church. Rev. N.M. Pritchard will officiate and burial will be in Pine Grove, under Masonic auspices.
