AGED JACKSON RESIDENT DIES
Mrs. Dorothea Barclay Succumbs Wednesday at Age of 83
Mrs. Dorothea Brown Barclay of Jackson Township, died Wednesday after an extended illness. The descendant was born in Jackson Township, Porter County on October 10, 1863, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franz Wiesemann.
On June 12, 1883 she was united in marriage to Jerome Brown, who preceded her in death in 1906. To this union were born five children. She was married in 1925 to William Barclay of Jackson Center. He died in 1935.
Surviving are the following children:
Francis J. Brown, Jackson Center
Mrs. Glen Dean, Valparaiso
Mrs. Claus Helmick, Valparaiso
Mrs. Leah Bogarth, Tampa, Fla.
four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
A daughter, Mrs. Florence Mains, preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Catholic church, Chesterton, with the Rev. Father E.H. Eisenhardt officiating. Friends may call at the Edmonds' funeral home, Chesterton, from 2 p.m. Friday and up until time of the services.
