ALICE PETZOLD

Mrs. Carl Petzold, 87, a former Kiel resident, died early today at the Terrace Nursing Home, 2305 N. 7th St. She had been in ill health for the past three years.
The former Elisa Balz, she was born July 2, 1876, in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Balz, and received her education in the district school. She was married to Mr. Petzold of the Town of Schleswig on May 16, 1901.
The couple settled in Kiel following their marriage, and observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in May of this year.
Mrs. Petzold was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Kiel, and the Frauenverein of the church.
Survivors are her husband; a son, Calvin F. of Kiel; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Kiel. The Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel from 3 p.m. Monday until 11 a.m. Tuesday, then at the church from noon until the services.
