Death of a Pioneer:
"The remains of Mrs. Helena Laycock of Marshalltown, IA, were brought back to the Payne Cemetery in Eppard's Point Township Tuesday afternoon and laid to rest beside those of her husband, John W. Laycock, who died about thirty years ago. Mrs. Laycock was 78 years of age and was one of the pioneers of this county, moving from here to Iowa twenty years ago.
About a month ago, she left her home in Iowa to visit her brother, Joseph T. Kay and family in this city. She was taken sick at Peoria and was compelled to return home and in a few days after her arrival there passed away, death being due to heart trouble. Short services were held at the grave; being attended by Mr. and Mrs. Kay and son, J. R., and other relatives in this city."
