NEW HAVEN WOMAN KILLED IN CAR WRECK - An 83 year old New Haven woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon. A medical condition--like a possible heart attack or stroke--may have caused the fatal accident, police said. Around 1:42 p.m., Nancy Lamkin was traveling through the 600 block of Monks Road when she went off the right side of the road. Lamkin's vehicle went several feet off the road and struck a tree. No evasive maneuvers like braking or steering appear to have been used, Nelson County Sheriff's Deputy K. C. Holbert said. Lamkin was pronounced dead at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was wearing a seat belt, investigators said. It was unclear at press time whether Lamkin died from a medical condition or injuries sustained in the accident. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, Holbert said.
