"Doris P. McHenry, 76, of Cochranville, passed away at home on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009. She was the wife of the late Frank Lloyd McHenry, who passed away on May 11, 2006.
She was born in Parkesburg, a daughter of the late Frank W. and Martha Ann Knott Pinkerton. She was a member of the Cochranville United Methodist Church, where she was in the choir, taught Sunday school and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
She graduated from the former Cochranville High School, class of 1951. She was a member of the Cochranville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Cochranville Golden Agers.
She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and doing puzzles and church activities.
Surviving are two children, Jay D., husband of Valerie Bowie McHenry of Christiana, and Teresa, wife of Joseph Maxwell of Cochranville; three grandchildren; and two siblings, Alice, wife of Harry Nickel of Christiana, and George W. Pinkerton of Beaver Falls. She was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Funeral service will take place at 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Cochranville United Methodist Church, Church Drive, Cochranville, with a greeting time from 6 p.m. until time of service. Pastor Bumkoo Chung will be officiating.
Interment will be private in the Cochranville Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cochranville United Methodist Church Missions Fund, P.O. Box 417, Cochranville, PA 19330.
