Olive Louretta Sleeth, age 87 of Cincinnati, Iowa passed away November 18, 2009 in Johnston, Iowa.

Olive was born in Centerville, December 12, 1921, the daughter of Zimmer Albert and Millie Lucretia Belle Whitall Hayes. She married Loyd Richard Sleeth on January 15, 1937 in Centerville, Iowa. He preceded her in death on august 2, 1993. Olive worked for National Handicraft in Des Moines for ten years and then retired and moved to Exline. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing and watching funny movies but mostly she was a homemaker and mother of twelve children, six boys and six girls. Olive was a member of Sheltering Rock Community Church in Des Moines, Iowa.

Olive was survived by her children, Gibert Sleeth of Des Moines, Iowa, Barbara Sleeth of LaRose, Louisiana, Paul (Chick) Sleeth of Oroville, Washington, Garold (Tina) Sleeth of Oroville, Washington, Randy (Linda) Sleeth of Albany, Oregon, Virginia "Jennie" (Hal May) Johnson of Ankeny, Iowa, Lucy (Tony) Russo of Indianola, Iowa, Danny (Barbara)Sleeth of Des Moines, Iowa, Glenda (Tommy) Davis of Johnston, South Carolina, and Lola (Chris) Brown of Cincinnati, Iowa; fifty-one grandchildren, one hundred great grandchildren, thirty-eight great-great grandchildren; a brother, Bert (Hazel) Hayes of Litton, Iowa, and a sister Janice Hayes of Centerville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Loyd R. Sleeth, a son, Pearl Edwin Sleeth, a daughter, Carol Jean Farris, two sisters, Edna Pearl Wales and Wilma Shondel, six brothers, Wylie, Ronald, Wilbur, Bueford, Clifford and Wilford Hayes, six grandsons, Mike and Cory Sleeth, James, Jackie, and Hiram Farris and Bobby Sleeth, and two granddaughters, Loretta Mulllin and Sandra Farris.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Lange Funeral Home in Centerville. Burial will follow at the Exline Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home with family present from 6-8 PM, in lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the family and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funerial Home 1900 S. 18th St, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
