The Rev. Harold Wilder conducted services in First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Anna May Rushing. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery with Dean Funeral Home services.
The daughter of Isaac and Sarah Kent Dispennett, Mrs. Rushing was born at Anniston, Mo., May 23, 1902, and died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital Sunday, August 12, at the age of 71. The family moved to Caruthersville when she was a child and on July 19, 191, in this city, she was married to Hermon Rushing. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She leaves her husband, Hermon Rushing, of the home, one son, Raymond Rushing of Hayward, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Rosa Lee Jones of Stanton, Calif., and Mrs. Peggy Sue Watkins of Fairfield, Calif.; a foster son, David Lowery of Caruthersville; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Medlin and Mrs. Mary Stover, both of Caruthersville.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
One son, Allen Rushing, preceded her in death in 1930.
