Mrs. Lucy Jane Black

Alba, Mo--Mrs. Lucy Jane Black, 79, Alba, died at 5:00 a.m. Monday at her home following a short illness.

Mrs. Black was born March 21, 1895, in Festus, Mo. She lived in Joplin most of her life and was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are five sons, Chester Black, Alba, Clifford Black, Mount Vernon, James Black and I. A. Black, Orlando, Florida, and John Black of Little Rock, Arkansas; three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Wright and Mrs. Laura Scott, both of Carthage and Mrs. Edna Chidester, Alba; thirty grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mason Chapel. The Reverend Gerald Holden will officiate. Burial will be at the Carterville Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
